I must admit – two weeks in – it may already be too late to revel in the glory of Fall – at least here in Chicago anyway.
But you know it is that time of year when tiny yellow leaves fall all over the streets. (Seriously, where do they all come from?)
Although the colors in the trees scream that Autumn is here, the chill in the air lets us all know that winter is encroaching.
So instead of rejoicing in thoughts of crisp nights, hot apple cider and hayrides, we are forced to instead contemplate layers of clothing, already wind-chapped skin and the hissing of furnaces.
But the beauty that surrounds as you walk the streets of Uptown offers enough warmth to keep me going.
At least until the cold traps us all inside.
